1. Rental Agreement

Each rental is subject to a specific Rental Agreement provided at the time of booking or collection. This document details the specific conditions, charges, insurance, and your responsibilities for that particular hire, and it takes precedence over these general Terms.

2. Eligibility

To rent a vehicle from us, you must:

Meet our minimum age requirements (typically 21+).
Hold a valid, full driving licence for the vehicle category you wish to hire.
Provide valid identification and proof of address.
Supply valid payment information for the rental and security deposit.
Meet any additional criteria specified in the Rental Agreement.

3. Booking & Payment

Bookings can be made by phone or through our website.
A booking deposit may be required to secure your reservation.
Full payment for the rental and a security deposit are typically due at or before vehicle collection.
Additional charges may apply for late returns, excess mileage (if not unlimited), or damages.

4. Vehicle Condition & Usage

You must inspect the vehicle upon collection and report any existing damage immediately.
Return the vehicle in the same condition as collected, allowing for fair wear and tear.
Vehicles should be returned with the same fuel level as collected, or a refuelling charge will apply.
You are responsible for any traffic fines, parking tickets, or penalties incurred during your rental period.

5. Insurance & Liability

Basic third-party insurance is included with every rental. Full details are in the Rental Agreement.
Optional additional insurance may be available to reduce your liability.
You are responsible for any damage, theft, or loss up to the agreed insurance excess.

6. Cancellations & Amendments

Our cancellation and amendment policies vary by booking type. Specific details will be provided in your booking confirmation and Rental Agreement. Late cancellations or no-shows may result in forfeiture of deposits or additional charges.

7. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use the vehicle for:

Any illegal activities.
Racing, off-roading, or other hazardous activities.
Transporting hazardous or illegal materials.
Sub-renting the vehicle or allowing unauthorized drivers.
Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Any purpose for which the vehicle is not designed.
Carrying more passengers than the legal capacity.
Towing other vehicles unless explicitly permitted by us.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Scottish law, Glasgow Vehicle Hire Services is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use or inability to use our services. This does not limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.

9. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by Scottish law. Any disputes arising from these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Scotland.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Any changes will be posted on this page, and the "Last Updated" date will be revised. Your continued use of our services after changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
